Cantwell offer bed and breakfast accommodation at The Paddock,
their bungalow set in 1½ acres of rural Berkshire. (Map). It is convenient for several main centres
including Newbury and Reading. More locally, Thatcham, Aldermaston and
Greenham are very close. It
is a mile from the nearest railway station (for London Paddington) and
the main A4 road, and about five miles from the M4 motorway
(J12). Travelling time from London Heathrow airport is
approximately 45 minutes. Parking is plentiful. Own transport is essential in this rural location.
The surrounding area of Bucklebury Common is excellent for walking and mountain biking. The River Kennet and Kennet & Avon Canal run nearby. There are many pleasant village pubs and restaurants in the area. Within one hour's drive are Windsor Castle, Blenheim Palace, Highclere Castle and Stratfield Saye House as well as the historic cities of Oxford, Winchester and Salisbury. The accommodation has been inspected and accredited by the English Tourism Council. One double bedroom is available with en-suite shower/WC, and a twin room is available at lower cost but with a shared bathroom. Both rooms have television and tea/coffee making facilities and Wi-Fi wireless internet access. Please note that no smoking is permitted in the bungalow.
